Aims and Objectives

a) To build a fully equipped Peace Library and Documentation Centre (PLDC): PLDC aims to serve as a collection of specialized library resources and documents in the area of religion, conflict and peace-building; The Centre will serve as a resource and research place  for students, teachers, researchers, Churches, civil society groups, government researchers and peace workers.

 

b) To develop and disseminate critical information and culture of peace in the region: This process will involve identification of people and groups engaged in peace work; communication and networking with them; conducting workshops and trainings; and also offering courses on Religion, Conflict and peace-building within the college curriculum for CTC students.

 

c) Developing Resources: To provide various groups in North East India with adequate research and information resources to facilitate them in preaching, conducting seminars, and providing counseling in the area of conflict and peace. We have started publication of a yearly journal covering ongoing issues related to Religion, Conflict and Peace-building. Our future aim for publication includes Bi-yearly newsletter; publication of a book featuring stories about conflict and peace-building from different in North East India.

 

d) To develop expertise in Peace Media and Art: This involves staging of stories about conflict and peace building in the different districts of Nagaland. We are doing this with the conviction that the lives and stories of people can inspire us in redefining our understanding of leadership and motivate us in giving voices to the many stories in our own community. Our aim is to use story as a tool for promoting peace in the land.
